Türkiye’s Measurement, Selection and Placement Center is administering the second 2026 Medical Specialization Examination and the second Medical Doctor Equivalency Level Assessment on Sunday, August 23. According to the official ÖSYM calendar, the examinations are being held in two sessions on the same day. The morning session covers the Basic Medical Sciences Test and the first stage of the equivalency examination, while the afternoon session covers the Clinical Medical Sciences Test and the second equivalency stage.
Building admission deadlines are critical
ÖSYM’s admission-document notice, published on August 13, states that candidates will not be admitted to examination buildings after 10:00 for the morning session or after 14:30 for the afternoon session. These are building-entry deadlines and should not be treated as flexible arrival targets. Candidates need to allow enough travel time, arrive early and recheck the building and room details printed on their admission document. The agency said all building and room assignments had been completed and made available through its Candidate Transactions System.
The admission document identifies the center assigned to each candidate. Its photograph, building, room and seat information form part of the examination-day verification process. ÖSYM asks candidates to obtain the document before the examination and bring it in line with the published rules. For candidates facing identity-document problems, the agency also published a separate list of provincial and district population offices scheduled to remain open; that service applies only at the offices named in the official notice.
How the calendar runs from application to results
ÖSYM accepted applications for the two examinations from July 8 through July 16 and provided July 24 as the late-application day. The examination date is August 23. The agency’s online calendar lists September 17 as the planned results date for the second 2026 TUS period. That date represents the scheduled announcement, and candidates should monitor ÖSYM’s official notices and results service for any update.
A TRT Haber report dated August 21 also confirmed, on the basis of ÖSYM’s statement, that the TUS and medical equivalency examinations would take place on Sunday. The date and session framework are therefore supported by both the responsible public authority and a separate national news outlet. Neither source, however, announced a new preference calendar or additional result-processing detail beyond the official schedule.
A practical checklist for candidates
Candidates should verify their examination building, session and identity requirements only through official ÖSYM pages. Screenshots circulating on social media or unsourced claims about examination times do not replace the agency’s notices. Anyone attending both parts must take care not to confuse the two admission cutoffs: 10:00 for the morning session and 14:30 for the afternoon session.
After the examinations are completed, results are scheduled to be released on September 17 through ÖSYM’s results platform. Later preference procedures will depend on guides and announcements that the agency has yet to publish for this stage. Until a new notice appears, candidates should rely on the current official calendar, retain their documents and avoid treating unofficial timetables as confirmed information.
