Details on the upcoming OnePlus 16 flagship have surfaced, revealing potential pricing and memory configurations. A leak from the @OnePlusClub account on X suggests the device will offer four storage variants, including an entry-level 8GB RAM model not seen in recent OnePlus flagships.
OnePlus recently teased the OnePlus 16 at the Snapdragon Gaming Technology Awards, indicating that development is nearing completion. The latest leak now provides a clearer picture of what consumers might expect.
Memory configurations and leaked prices
According to the unverified claims, the base model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage will cost 4,999 yuan in China. For context, the current OnePlus 15 starts at 12GB RAM and 256GB storage for 5,099 yuan, making the new model's entry price slightly lower. The last OnePlus flagship to feature an 8GB option was the OnePlus 11 back in 2023.
The lineup also includes a 12GB + 256GB variant at 5,499 yuan, a 12GB + 512GB model at 5,999 yuan, and a top-tier 16GB + 1TB configuration priced at 7,499 yuan. The 1TB model is rumored to be a limited edition. Notably, a 24GB RAM option, previously seen on some OnePlus devices, is absent from this leak.
Expected hardware highlights
Under the hood, the OnePlus 16 is expected to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, rumored to be built on a 2nm process. The display is said to be a 6.78-inch flat OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 185Hz refresh rate. A massive 9,000 mAh battery would be a standout feature, though all these specs remain unofficial.
On the camera front, leaks point to a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.
Uncertain global rollout
The OnePlus 16's availability outside China is doubtful. The company previously confirmed it would not sell new devices in North America and Europe. Recent reports suggest the phone may also skip India, raising the likelihood that this flagship will be exclusive to the Chinese market.
