Samsung will showcase a cross-device gaming vision at Gamescom 2026
Samsung Electronics says it will attend Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, with a broad program built around the Odyssey G8 monitor, the 9100 Pro SSD and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. The company plans to bring PC, console and mobile gaming experiences together at one booth under the #PlaySamsung slogan. Gamescom's official site lists the public event dates as August 26-30.
The 32-inch Odyssey G8 is the centerpiece of Samsung's announcement. According to the company, the monitor runs at a 6K resolution with a 165 Hz refresh rate. Its Dual Mode can lower the resolution to 3K while increasing the refresh rate to 330 Hz. The display supports G-Sync compatibility, AMD FreeSync Premium and HDR10+ Gaming. Samsung positions the model as the principal display in its Gamescom program.
PC, mobile and storage share one program
Samsung's Gamescom plan is broader than a single monitor demonstration. The 9100 Pro SSD represents the storage and data-transfer part of the setup, while the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will be used to present mobile gaming. PlayGalaxy Cup finals are heading to Cologne
Samsung will host the PlayGalaxy Cup World Finals on August 27 and 28. Its announcement says ten teams that advanced through five regional qualifiers in North America, Latin America, Europe, Southeast Asia and Southwest Asia will compete for the championship. The program will begin with a special three-player PUBG Mobile match involving well-known gaming creators.
This part of the schedule combines a mobile hardware demonstration with a competitive gaming event. Samsung aims to show the gaming performance of Galaxy phones in a tournament setting. The company did not publish a prize total or a complete team list in the announcement. The confirmed details are therefore limited to the dates, the regional qualification structure and the ten-team final format.
